School Counseling

  • Every school provides guidance and counseling services to all students. Read 324P - School Guidance and Counseling Programs.

The data-driven comprehensive school counseling program at Frederick County Middle School will facilitate students' success in the three domains of academic, personal/social and career development. The counselor's role will be to facilitate a collaborative effort between home, school and community. The counseling program will be developmental in nature, while encompassing individual differences and abilities, with an ultimate goal of fostering responsible and productive citizens.

February is upon us!  This year is really moving fast!!!  Just a reminder that we have NO SCHOOL Feb. 5th. Feb 16th and Feb. 19th.  The end of the 3rd term grading period is March 8th, so there is plenty of time to catch up on any missing assignments between now and then!  Your scholar is able to show you a list of missing assignments for all classes through their Google Classroom on their chromebooks.  This is under the “to do” tab and then the “missing assignments link”. If you have any questions, please reach out anytime! Your scholar has completed their course request for 7th grade, please remember to sign these and send them back with your scholar to be given back to their health/PE teacher.

Another reminder is that all rising 7th graders will need:

    • Tdap booster (elementary get DTaP, parents get this confused all the time)
    • 1st dose meningococcal (2nd dose will be 12th gr)
    • HPV: optional

Have a great month and feel free to contact me if you need anything!

Happy February everyone.  I want you to be aware that our counseling team has met with our grade level scholars during health classes last week to discuss course requests for the coming school year.  We instructed our scholars to bring home their course request forms to discuss with parents/ guardians elective classes for the 2024/ 2025 school year, and to return the signed forms back to their health teacher.  With absences increasing due to cold and flu season, please continue to send in notes whenever your child is out of school.  If you would like to meet and conference with your child’s teachers please let me know.  And as always, if I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Best Regards,
