FCPS On-Time Graduation Rate Exceeds the Average State Rate for the 10th Consecutive Year
For the 10th consecutive year, Frederick County Public Schools’ on-time graduation rate exceeds the state’s average on-time graduation rate. According to the Virginia Department of Education, the on-time graduate rate for members of Frederick County Public Schools’ Class of 2022 was 94.6 percent compared to Virginia’s on-time graduation rate of 92.1 percent. It is also the fourth consecutive year the school division’s on-time graduation rate has climbed.

For the 10th consecutive year, the Association of School Business Officials International has recognized Frederick County Public Schools with a Meritorious Budget Award.

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has announced each of Frederick County’s public schools has been accredited for 2022-23.

Free and Reduced Price Meals
The U.S. Department of Agriculture waivers that allowed all FCPS students to receive free school meals the past two years have expired. This means school breakfast and lunch will not be available to all students at no cost during the 2022-23 school year. However, eligible families can participate in the free and reduced priced meals program.

School Quality and Perceptions Survey Results- The results from the 2022 Frederick County Public Schools School Quality and Perceptions Survey reveal a majority of students, parents and school-based staff rate the overall quality of their school as good or excellent.

Frederick County Public Schools Nurse Aide Program is one of many career and technical education offerings that enable students to earn certifications that can lead to job opportunities. The Nurse Aide program is offered at the Dowell J. Howard Center and is available to high school juniors and seniors.
