The fourth high school is scheduled to open in August 2029.
Project Overview
The fourth high school site is located by Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School.
- Student Capacity: 1,250 students (base); 1,600 (core)
- 239,923 square feet
- Stadium: 3,000 seats with synthetic turf field and 8-lane track
- Fields: baseball, softball, tennis courts (8), multi-use fields (3)
- Parking: 750 cars, 30 buses, 7 special needs buses
- Gym: 2,000 seats, 84x50 main court, 84x40 side courts
- Auditorium: 800 seats; retractable seating at rear; partitioned
- Instructional Program: Academic/technical programs similar to other FCPS high schools with emphasis on CTE:
- AG shop
- Graphics
- Greenhouse
- Tech Ed
- CADD
- Family and Consumer Science
- Business
- Culinary Arts
Curation meetings have been held with multiple FCPS departments to get their input on the design.
Launch meetings have been held with students, parents, School Board members, and other community stakeholders to get their input on the design.
Numerous follow-up and design progress meetings have been held.
Design is nearing completion, with bidding to begin March 16, 2026.
