Design Process Meeting - March 25, 2025

Frederick County Public Schools held its first fourth high school design process meeting on March 25. Participants included parents, community members, administrators, School Board members and students. An initial presentation to participants provided them with critical information about the project and insights from previous stakeholder feedback to help inform the evening’s discussions.

Members were then divided into teams to engage in an exercise to generate innovative concepts for the design of the fourth high school. Following the team exercise, students presented their team’s vision. Once all ideas were presented, the whole group participated in a consensus-building exercise by placing stickers on the concepts that resonated most with the community’s needs and values.

In preparation for the next meeting, the architect, VLK, will translate the big idea concepts into concrete solutions. During the next meeting scheduled for April 23, VLK will present initial design concepts and seek feedback to refine the vision.
