School Nutrition Services

The School Nutrition Services Department strives to see that all children have access to healthful school meals and nutrition education and that the last child served receives the same quality and choices as the first child served. The department follows the guidelines as outlined in the Healthy Hunger Free Act of 2010.

Frederick County food service programs use a computerized system to record lunch sales. Parents may pay for student meals by sending in a check or cash which is recorded on the child's account and dispersed as they make purchases at meal time. Or you can pay online through MySchoolBucks.com. You may pay for student meals on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

In participation with the Federal school meal program, children from households that meet Federal Income Guidelines are eligible for either reduced price or free meals. Frederick County Public Schools administers its meal program without consideration of race, color, national origin, age or disability.

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits.
