2025-26 VDOE Family Engagement Survey
Each school year, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is required to report to the U.S.
Department of Education as part of the Annual Performance Plan the “percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities.”
This survey is a great opportunity for parents to provide input to help guide efforts to improve services and outcomes for their children and I am asking that each parent consider completing this survey. Your responses will be kept anonymous and never be personally linked to your child.
This survey is asking you as the parent to reflect on your experiences during the 2025-26 school year and respond to some specific statements.
Parents who have more than one child receiving special education services with an individualized
education program (IEP) should submit one survey for each child by December 11, 2026.
