Strategic Plan
As we work together to draft a brand new strategic plan, the input of our staff, students and community is essential to creating a vision, priorities and goals that reflect what’s most important to our students. The FCPS School Board has identified some exciting key areas of focus, and we need your unique perspective to help us build a plan that makes our schools even better for you and future generations. Let’s make your voice heard—because your ideas can make a real difference.
Surveys
Links to a family and community survey and an FCPS staff survey are below. The survey is open through February 4 (deadline extended from original deadline of January 31). Students received a link to a student survey via email to those audiences.

- FCPS Staff Strategic Plan Survey
Focus Groups and Advisory Committees
If you are interested in being more involved in the process, you may be selected to participate in a focus group or advisory committee. Please complete Strategic Plan Focus Group/Advisory Committee Interest Form by January 31 to indicate your interest in participating in a focus group or advisory committee.
Focus Groups
We want to hear from every sector of our community in a more personal and detailed way through virtual focus groups. Each focus group will be limited to 10 participants. Virtual focus group meetings will be held the week of February 10-14. Selected participants will be notified the week of February 3 with the meeting date and time.
Advisory Committee
For those who want to play a deeper role, consider joining our Strategic Plan Advisory Committee. This group will consist of up to 30 participants representing every spectrum of our community, including teachers, administrators, classified staff, parents and community members.
Responsibilities of the Advisory Committee:
- Act as a representative body: Provide a diverse range of perspectives.
- Review draft goals and priorities: Offer input on the mission, vision and overarching goals.
- Offer a practical lens: Review and provide feedback on strategies and action plans to ensure they are realistic and actionable in schools and the community.
- Serve as ambassadors: Communicate the purpose and progress of the strategic planning process to their respective stakeholder groups, building support and buy-in.
The Advisory Committee will meet once a month from February through April at the School Board Office from 6-8 p.m. on select dates.
