Counseling at Our School
My name is Kimberly Wilbourne and I am the school counselor at APR. I am available daily to help students, parents, and teachers in a variety of ways to ensure that they are successful. I know that each school year is filled with inspiration, excitement, and excellence.
For those of you not familiar with what a school counselor is, here are a few of the services I provide to help support students:
- Classroom Guidance Lessons - Throughout the school year, your child will have guidance lessons addressing social emotional skills, academic success, and careers
- Small Group Lessons - Small groups are designed to provide more direct opportunities to meet with myself and other students that need a little extra support in different areas. A permission slip will be sent home letting you know that your child has been invited to be a part of a small group.
- Individual Counseling - Students can meet with me to talk about things that might be worrying them, if they have a problem, or if they just want to share something that is important to them. Please be aware of my respect for confidentiality throughout the school year.
- Support to parents and teachers
I look forward to working with your children this year. If there is anything that I can help you with, please don’t hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 540-662-4781.
