FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

School divisions must provide parents/guardians and adult students annual notice of their rights to inspect and review education records, amend education records, consent to disclosure of personally identifiable information in education records and file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education.  

Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) Regulation 416R-A - Student Scholastic Records details the rights provided to parents/legal guardians and adult students under FERPA.  Regulation 416R-A also defines the categories of information FCPS has designated as directory information.
