Library Media Program
Frederick County Public Schools library media program is an extension of the classroom and provides support for instructional and curriculum needs as well as the recreational interests of our students. The library media program provides instruction and resources to ensure all students and staff are effective users of ideas, technology and information. Each elementary, middle and high school is served by a certified library media specialist. As the information center of each school, the library media program embraces and promotes deeper learning through critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, and collaboration. The library media program and library media specialists encourage students to become enthusiastic, lifelong lovers of reading and ethical users of information. FCPS Librarians follow the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Standards.
