FCPS Announces New Administrators

At the School Board Meeting on Tuesday, February 24, Frederick County Public Schools announced the appointment of two administrators. Read below to learn more about each administrator.

Principal at Jordan Springs Elementary School
Dr. Courtney Bauserman-Villa assumes the role of Principal at Jordan Springs Elementary School.  Bauserman-Villa, a Millbrook High School graduate, is relocating back to the area from Florida, where she most recently served as a School Improvement Specialist and Regional Director for the Florida Department of Education.  Her experience also includes almost three years as a Reading Coach, one year as a K-8 Instructional Coach, and two years as a middle school science and math teacher.  Basuerman-Villa holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Old Dominion University, a master's degree in instructional leadership from American Public University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from NOVA University.

Assistant Principal at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School
Mr. Brian Barbour transitions from Dean of Students to Assistant Principal at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School.  Barbour's extensive teaching experience includes four years as a history and social studies teacher at James Wood Middle School, fourteen years as a social studies teacher at Randolph-Macon Academy, and three years as a teacher at Fauquier County Public Schools. During his tenure as a teacher, he has served as a summer school administrator and department chair.  Barbour holds a bachelor's degree in history from Lynchburg College, a master's degree in secondary education from University of Mary Washington, and a master's degree in administration from Shenandoah University.
