    Please turn all your textbooks in this week on the cart outside the main office.


    All library books are due ASAP! The library is now closed through the end of the year due to packing. Students are welcome to return books, get coloring pages, and print.


    The school store is still open today for anyone who has not yet picked up their yearbook.  All yearbooks must be picked up by 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.  Also, if you didn’t pre-order, we still have some books available.  The cost is $110 and payment can be made on MySchoolBucks.

     


    CLASSES AND CLUBS:
    Here's what's new in the JWHS store: Skittles Freezer Pops just 25 centsI each, Snapple Iced Teas, and chocolate candy is back in stock. Plus, sports drinks are now only $2. Stop by at 2:30pm! We're just around the corner from the gym. We take cash or card.


    The band is having a Car Show on Saturday, June 1. Please see Mr. Rutherford with any questions.

     

    ATHLETICS:
    There will be a Men’s basketball informational meeting for anyone interested in joining workouts this Friday at 8:00 a.m.. 


    Attention: Interested in playing volleyball next year? Reminder that workouts will begin on June 3rd from 9:30-11:30 at Frederick County Middle School. See Coach Patrick in Mod. 6 for more details.


    Varsity Softball beat Millbrook 8-0 in the Region Quarterfinals. Cadence Rieg was stellar in the circle throwing 5 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts. Sophia Gerald came in relief throwing 2 scoreless innings. At the plate the Colonels were led by Aliza Judd who was 2-2 with a walk double and 2 RBIs, Kati Brannon was 2-2 with 2 walks and 2 RBIs, and Skyla Compton was 3-4 with a double. Brynnen Williams was 2-3 with a double, Cadence Rieg was 2-4 with a HR, and Molly Maynard was 1-3. Sophia Gerald added a RBI double. The Colonels will host Sherando on Friday in the Region Semi-finals. 


    Varsity Baseball beats Orange County 3-2 in 9 innings. Sam Jackson scores the winning run on a wild pitch. Garett McAlexander 7IP, 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 5 strikeouts. Logan Bower gets the win going 2 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 6. Offensively, John Copenhaver 2-4, double, RBI, stolen base. Coby Nesselrodt 2-3. Sam Jackson 1-1, run. Wood will host Charlottesville on Friday at 6:30 in the Region 4 North Semi-Final.


    Varsity Girls soccer team (13-1-3) defeated Charlottesville 1-0 in the Regional Quarters match on Wednesday.  The lone goal of the game was scored by Delaney Newcome in the 17th minute. Jolie Jenkins dribbled around 4 players getting the ball into the right corner before crossing it into the 18 yard box. DeLaney settled the cross and smashed it into the net. Alaynah McGuire (5 saves) had a big save in the second half when a Charlottesville forward headed a ball towards the goal off a corner kick. Alaynah dove right and parried the ball around the post.  The Lady Colonels host Orange County on Friday at 7 pm for the Regional Semi final match.
