    CLASSES AND CLUBS:
    The school store has a new name: Colonel's Corner! Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest, naming our new school store. When you all return next school year, we'll make it official with new branding. For now, stop by Colonel's Corner for a delicious treat before heading into your afternoon. We continue to be open after school every day this week, except for Friday. We take cash and cards.


    The band is having a Car Show on Saturday, June 1. Please see Mr. Rutherford with any questions.

     

    ATHLETICS:
    Attention: Interested in playing volleyball next year? Reminder that workouts will begin on June 3rd from 9:30-11:30 at Frederick County Middle School. See Coach Patrick in Mod. 6 for more details.


    Softball beat Sherando 4-3 with a 2 RBI walkoff hit by Aliza Judd in the 7th inning. The win sends JW to the Regional Championship game and secures a berth to States for the 2nd year in a row. Jenna Shull started and pitched 2 innings with 2 strikeouts. Cadence Rieg pitched an inning in relief and Sophia Gerald pitched 4 scoreless innings in relief earning the win. Aliza Judd was 2-4 with 4 RBIs and Brynnen Williams was 3-3 with a walk and a double. Sophia Gerald was 1-3 and led the 7th inning off with a single and scored the tying run. Molly Maynard was 1-3 and scored the winning run. The Colonels will host Jefferson Forest in the Regional Championship game tonight.


    Baseball beats Charlottesville 3-0 in Region 4 North Semi-Final. Brock Whipkey gets the win going 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, & 6 strikeouts. Logan Bower earned the save going 1 inning, 0 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 1. Offensively, Deuce Strosnider went 1-2, double, Sac Fly, 2 RBI. Logan Bower 1-3, run, stolen base. Coby Nesselrodt 1-3, double. Brock Whipkey 1-2, double. Wood reaches their 4th consecutive Region Championship game and travels to Blacksburg tonight with a 5 pm start.
