Special Instructional Services
The Special Instructional Services Department, as a part of the FCPS learning organization, is committed to creating an inclusive environment where all members, including students, families, community partners and employees, are engaged in preparing students to lead full and productive lives.
Restraint and Seclusion Procedures
Frederick County Public Schools' Restraint and Seclusion Procedures have been implemented in accordance with the Virginia Department of Education regulations and School Board Policy 435P. These procedures ensure that appropriate measures are taken before, during and after a behavior incident where a student is in danger of inflicting serious physical harm or injury to self or others.

Family Engagement Survey
Each school year, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) seeks parent's input about the special education and related services their child receives within the school division. The survey is a great opportunity for parents to provide input and help guide efforts to improve services and outcomes for their children. The survey is open through December 15.
