Little Feet Meet 2023

Today several schools participated in a Special Olympics-sponsored Little Feet Meet!

Each year, thousands of "little feet" take over high schools across Virginia in an inclusive track meet. Little Feet Meets provide an opportunity for elementary children with and without disabilities to show their sporting skills in front of cheering students, parents and teachers.

Our students trained for 8 weeks leading up to this event, where they participated in a standing long jump, a run and a throwing event. All students received awards for participating in today's event.

We were so lucky to be joined by several members of the Frederick County Sheriff's office and FCPS superintendent Dr. George Hummer.

Our event included an opening ceremony complete with the Special Olympics torch!

Thank you to all the volunteers that made this day possible!  We had close to 90 students participate and about 100 volunteers today! It was a great day!
