Brian Davis began on December 18 as the director of facilities services for Frederick County Public Schools. Davis is replacing long-time director Tim Crisman, who will retire at the end of the month after holding the director of facilities position since 2011.
“I was honored to be selected and am very excited about this opportunity,” said Davis. “I am looking forward to diving in and working with the whole team to ensure our facilities are safe and well-maintained for our students.”
The director of facilities services directs work of the maintenance department employees, supervises coordination of maintenance activities with school personnel and handles long-range planning to support future needs and growth through the division's capital asset plan. The director also inspects and evaluates the condition of all school buildings and related equipment, schedules and manages routine maintenance on all building systems, provides input to project renovations and new construction, and more.
Shane Goodwin, assistant superintendent for administration, believes Davis’ experience makes him the perfect fit for the position. "He brings 28 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge about maintenance, facilities and construction to our school division,” Goodwin said. “We are happy to have found someone with Mr. Davis' experience."
Davis holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from East Carolina University. He currently resides in Maryland but plans to relocate to the Winchester area.
