FCMS 6th grade students are being shown multiple ways to study thermal energy by using different lab stations.
Examples are: students viewed a mini water cycle model and explained where the different thermal energy transfers happen and viewed our light using a spectroscope to see the entire visible spectrum.
The students are able to determine which type of Earth's surface is heated the most by radiation, as well as which items are the best conductors of thermal energy.
By using a hand boiler to watch convection in action, they were able to determine and explain how all three thermal energy transfers are used in making s'mores.
It was an awesome experience!
