PSAT Registration for October 12

Important Information for the October 12 PSAT 

Registration is open to 11th grade only from August 29 to September 2. Students in 10th grade can register beginning September 3-9. We are not accepting registrations from 9th grade at this time. All registrations end on September 9.  Register for the PSAT.

A test fee of $20 must be paid at the time of registration and can be paid online through MySchoolBucks. You are NOT registered for the test until you have filled out the registration form AND paid at MySchoolBucks.   

The test will be administered at James Wood High School to JWHS students and JWHS zone homeschool students only.  

Test Date: Wednesday October 12 - There is NO makeup date

Test Time: Testing begins at 8:00 a.m. Late students will NOT be admitted. Please check in with your 1st period teacher for attendance. 

The test is approximately 4 hours and students must be present for the duration of the test until they are dismissed. The PSAT is a Nationally Standardized test with timed sections. If a student must leave before the test is completed and they are dismissed then their test can not be scored. Please keep this in mind when scheduling appointments, etc.

Students can bring a snack to have during scheduled breaks (food/drink is not allowed during testing).

Students should bring at least two wooden #2 pencils and are allowed an approved calculator (calculators will NOT be provided).

All cell phones, smart watches and other electronic devices must be turned off and turned in at check-in. All devices will be returned to students upon dismissal from the test.

The following health and safety procedures will be followed with no exceptions:

If you are sick or have been exposed to someone who has recently tested positive for COVID or is suspected to have COVID please DO NOT report to testing. Also, if you have been required to quarantine by the school due to possible exposure to COVID and your quarantine period has not expired please DO NOT report to testing.
