The James Wood High School varsity football team will have a new coach for the 2023 season. James Wood Principal Sam Gross announced today that Ryan Morgan’s tenure as coach is ending after six seasons. Gross says, “Coach Morgan has devoted countless hours since 2008 to help grow our football program. In addition to serving as our varsity football coach for the past six years, he previously served six years as the head coach of the JV team. He has positively impacted hundreds of student athletes through coaching and we thank him for his commitment to the Colonels.”
During his six seasons as the head coach of James Wood’s varsity football team, Morgan accumulated a record of 23-30. In 2021, he led the Colonels to their first playoff appearance since 2014. Morgan continues to serve as an English teacher at James Wood High School.
