Dr. Brian Erskine Appointed as Redbud District School Board Member

At their special called meeting on June 17, 2024, the County School Board of Frederick County, Virginia, unanimously voted to appoint Dr. Brian Erskine to serve as the Redbud District School Board Member. Erskine will replace Ellen White, who vacated the seat on May 31, 2024.

Erskine holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in political science and a doctorate in specialization instruction and curriculum. He served as acting assistant principal at Skyline High School in Warren County during the 2023-24 school year. Prior to that, he was a dean in Warren County and a senior/lead teacher at James Wood Middle School from 2021-23. He also has experience as a private school administrator.
Erskine is also a proud product of Frederick County Public Schools. Although he no longer works full time in the classroom, he takes the education profession very seriously. His decision to pursue serving on the School Board comes from his desire to make positive change as a public servant.

Frederick County Circuit Court Clerk Sarah Kahle will conduct the swearing-in ceremony for Erskine at 1:30 p.m. on June 18. The ceremony will occur in the Milton F. Wright Board meeting room at the Frederick County Public Schools Administration Building in Winchester.

Erskine will attend a Board member orientation on June 20, and will attend his first School Board meeting as a certified board member on June 25.
